Bio
I was born in the front range of Colorado, and took a liking to the outdoors and my small community. I later went on to graduate with both a psychology and studio arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. I am currently based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Artist Statement
I am both a ceramic artist and painter, with a deep interest in exploring form, texture, and subtle movement. Growing up in Colorado, I developed a strong connection to the idea of balance—between simplicity and complexity, fluidity and structure—and this is something I seek to express in both mediums.
In my ceramics, I focus on creating organic forms that feel alive and dynamic, using texture and subtle movement to transform a simple shape into something more intriguing. I am drawn to how a surface can change the way a form is perceived, and I enjoy playing with tactile details that invite the viewer to engage more intimately with the piece.
As a painter, I bring the same sensitivity to texture and movement, working with color and line to create compositions that feel both balanced and dynamic. I often seek to evoke a quiet elegance through minimal gestures, allowing the subtle details of the brushstroke or the interplay of colors to create depth and interest.
In both my ceramics and paintings, my goal is to make work that feels purposeful and engaging, inviting the viewer to appreciate the beauty in the subtleties of form, texture, and movement.
